18 September is the Great North Run and I am in it. First long race (it’ll take me ~2hr) for a while that I have been able to use my iPod. So I’m looking for some suggestions for the playlist. There are songs below that are on the longlist but I’d be interested in new suggestions. What’s your favourite? What would be fun/ inspiring/ silly to listen to?

I find the Pogues Streams of Whisky is just the job, and keeps me at more or less half-marathon pace. That said, I use, nature’s iPod, that is to say I sing it to myself
Thank you!
I don’t usually run with music, but if (like tonight) I’m feeling really lazy and not at all enthused, I take my iPod shuffle and it always gets me going. The following make it on to my list:
Killers ‘All these things that I’ve done’ is always a favourite on my running soundtrack. Complete nonsense, but great to run to!
I also like ‘Old apartment’ by Barenakedladies. Makes me remember my final year as an undergraduate, with rose tinted nostalgia.
‘Little favours’ by KT Tunstall
‘Dakota’ by Stereophonics
‘Elevation’ by U2 (I love this for running)
‘I predict a riot’ by Kaiser Chiefs
Don’t hold it against me, but I’m also partial to a little Girls Aloud when running stupidly far.
