I ran the Standard Chartered City 5K in July, finishing in 30:50. I think that my target for the next 6 months will be to run a 5k in under 30 minutes. I enjoyed this race despite it being a long time since I had run regularly; and it was the spur to get my trainers on a bit more often. I’ve been comfortably running a boring but useful 5.5mile loop a couple of times a week, as well as getting in a short lunchtime run in at work every now and again. I think I have also learned a bit more about how my own weeks can vary, without wishing to be too technical that I am more in tune with the way that my energy levels and motivation really are pegged to whichever week of the month it is. And I am determined to exploit that.
